![]() ![]() I'm sorry what? My 3080ti desktop isn't even pushing 800MHz when running Prodeus and that's everything maxed, 60FPS, 1080p because I'm on a 1080p monitor and my GPU utilisation is only 50% and I'm only using 25% of it's total power draw. I've noticed a very big trend in a lot of defense forcing of really pc versions especially when they use DLSS. Even on a 3080 the amount of usage and wattage it is pulling is abysmal for what is going on. Originally posted by λ Experimental Vaccine till 2023:I'm sorry but prodeus is the case of optimisation. The amount of power the game is using and the performance it is giving is objectively poor. ![]() I'm sorry but prodeus is the case of optimisation. Yes retro aesthetics does not mean retro requirements, and yes proton can caus ea loss in performance but it very often and PROVEN results in the same performance and sometimes better. Another thing to keep in mind you are going to have a slight performance hit regardless as the game needs to run through a proton compatibility layer since there is no native linux build ![]() And just because a game is retro in aesthetic it doesn't mean it's retro in hardware requirements. You need to keep in mind that the Steam Deck doesn't have the same amount of power delivery to the APU as a desktop/laptop would to a dedicated CPU and GPU as there are thermal limitations to consider along with battery life. If it isn't then cap the refresh rate to something like 40Hz(in turn capping to 40fps stable) which is a rather good compromise. If 60Hz is a must have no compromise just drop the resolution, turn down shadow/render distance etc. In Prodeus, you can also create maps of your own and play on maps created by other players.Originally posted by Katcher:It's less about optimisation and more you trying to get more than what the Deck can push. There are collectibles on each map that will grant you rewards when collected. Different types of ammunition are used for each weapon. Each of them has different statistics, which include the rate of fire, reload time, accuracy, and ammo capacity. There will be a very rich arsenal at your disposal consisting of various firearms and more. Another reminiscence of old games will be the stuff that can be picked up from the bodies of enemies and in the map, such as new weapons, armor, and healing items. ![]() Dismembering enemies, and bloody fights will be common in the real chaos of Prodeus. As it happens in old school games of this type, there will be lots of enemies to defeat. In the game, the player takes on the role of a corrupted agent of Prodeus, whose main task is to destroy the creator of the game, Prodeus, and anything that may try to stop him. In Prodeus, you can also create maps of your own and play on maps created by other players. It has textures that resemble the old retro style of such games. It takes inspiration from the classics of the 90s, such as DOOM or Wolfenstein. Prodeus is an indie FPS, that takes place in space. In 2019, the game was funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Game developers Mike Voeler and Jason Mojica have been working together since their work on Singularity at Raven Studios. The game will be released by Humble Games and developed by Bounding Box Software Inc. Prodeus was first announced in 2018, along with the first alpha version of the game. ![]()
