As the Wii U had struggled to gain external support, leaving it with a weak software library, Nintendo preemptively sought the support of many third-party developers and publishers to help build out the Switch's game library alongside Nintendo's first-party titles, including many independent video game studios. Nintendo opted to use more standard electronic components, such as a chipset based on Nvidia's Tegra line, to make development for the console easier for programmers and more compatible with existing game engines. The Nintendo Switch's design is aimed at a wide demographic of video game players through multiple modes of use. Nintendo's then-president Satoru Iwata pushed the company towards mobile gaming and novel hardware. Known in development by its codename NX, the concept of the Switch came about as Nintendo's reaction to several quarters of financial losses into 2014, attributed to poor sales of its previous console, the Wii U, and market competition from mobile games. The Nintendo Switch was unveiled on October 20, 2016. A revised higher-end version of the original system, featuring an OLED screen, was released on October 8, 2021. A handheld-focused revision of the system, called the Nintendo Switch Lite, was released on September 20, 2019. Nintendo Switch games and software are available on both physical flash-based ROM cartridges and digital distribution via Nintendo eShop the system has no region lockout. The Nintendo Switch's software supports online gaming through Internet connectivity, as well as local wireless ad hoc connectivity with other consoles. They can also connect to a grip accessory to provide a traditional home console gamepad form, or be used individually in the hand like the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, supporting local multiplayer modes. Its wireless Joy-Con controllers, with standard buttons and directional analog sticks for user input, motion sensing, and tactile feedback, can attach to both sides of the console to support handheld-style play. The console itself is a tablet that can either be docked for home console use or used as a portable device, making it a hybrid console. The Nintendo Switch is a video game console developed by Nintendo and released worldwide in most regions on March 3, 2017. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ( 55.46 million, as of June 30, 2023 )

If the vehicle for which the salvage certificate has been issued has a non-conforming USA VIN, proof of compliance with the Texas Department of Transportation safety regulations is required. In either case an Identification Certificate Form (VI-30-A) must be submitted, showing that the vehicle has been safety inspected. However, in situations when a pencil tracing cannot be made, the applicant must execute a Statement of Physical Inspection (Form VTR-20). In lieu of the VIN inspection by a law enforcement officer, a pencil tracing of the VIN may be submitted. The inspection report may be made either on the reverse side of the title in the space provided or on the department's prescribed form, VTRD-75-1.

Which cast members are returning for season 2? I don't want to flip cards so much that it feels inauthentic." "And yet the thing I love most about our show is flipping cards. "I feel like the compliment our show gets that means the most to me is that it's authentic," he said. Apparently, ABC asked for even more (22, to be precise), but the producer pushed back in an effort to maintain the show's "authenticity." The third pick behind Williamson and Ja Morant, Barrett seemed like something of a consolation prize, and an uneven season reinforced that perception.īut Barrett did something pretty unusual by his vastly improved second season: he racked up more than 2,000 points, pulled down 500 rebounds and passed out 300 assists before turning 21. In his rookie season, which was weird for every rookie, Barrett took a lot of criticism, partly because of comparisons with Williamson, who the Knicks really, really wanted. In one, Barrett is celebrating a massive Williamson dunk in the other, Williamson is about four feet off the ground as Barrett slams one home. There is a great pair of photos of the two. And actually that’s the wrong word: they thrived as teammates.īarrett has clearly shown an alpha personality on the court and did so at Duke despite Williamson’s vast physical superiority.īut partly because Williamson was willing to defer to Barrett, at one point calling Duke “RJ’s team” and allowing him to express his instincts and partly because the two struck up a genuine mutual admiration society, there was never a hint of tension or jealousy between the two. Journeyman Stephenson is with the club on a 10-day contract and ready to show he’s still got life in his legs-he might even start in one of the guard spots. One of the great understated accomplishments of Duke’s 2018-19 team was just how smoothly RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson co-existed. Rookie forward Jalen Johnson might draw his first start of the season. Who else will play for Atlanta? Hell if I know. With Capela out and Onyeka Okongwu out, watch for Gorgui Dieng, who has averaged three rebounds and three points in eight minutes per game. Walker should meet little resistance, with Bogdan averaging a 115 defensive rating. Kemba Walker will seek to pick up where he left off, dropping 44 on the Washington Wizards. He will likely play point position with all other lead guards out. The 29-year old Serbian has regressed a shade from last year’s career-high stats. Guard Bogdan Bogdanović is a spot-up shooter who has averaged 11 points and 2.4 assists in 28 minutes per game. Randle’s been a woeful 0.7-for-6 (11%) from deep in the last three games. Let’s hope Julius Randle is rejuvenated after holiday time with Kendra and the kids, and Santa brought some improved shooting. Q for the comments: is he worth his five-year, $125.0 million deal? He can score from spot-up, the post, or as the roll-man. His 65% true shooting puts him in the 93 percentile, and he’s a solid rim defender/offensive rebounder. Power forward John Collins has averaged 17.6 points and eight boards this season. Your Christmas present arrives at noon, Ebenezers. Will the Knicks rise victoriously over a team reduced to John Collins and (does double-take) Lance Stephenson?ĭamn right, they will-or certain players better prepare to change their zip codes in 2022. This time around, the Hawks are missing a slew of guys, including Young, Clint Capela, Cam Reddish (probable), Delon Wright (probable), Danilo Gallinari, Solomon Hill, De’Andre Hunter, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, and Sweet Lou Williams. Starting point guard Alec Burks was your star of the game with 23 points, and Evan Fournier added 20 (7-for-13 from the field, 4-for-6 from deep). The two teams last tangled on November 27, a game the Knicks won 99-90, despite a 33-point, seven assist game by Trae “Zorro Stash” Young and 22 rebounds by Clint Capela. This Christmas, the Atlanta Hawks (15-16) visit the New York Knicks (14-18) to kick off a slate of NBA games. Why do we need three time dimensions? To understand, we have to talk about some math. In the new paper, the researchers upped the ante to include one space dimension and three time dimensions, or 1+3. In earlier work, published in the New Journal of Physics in March 2020, Dragan and his coauthor studied “just” one space dimension and one time dimension, known as 1+1. Perhaps more interestingly, the way general relativity becomes quantum phenomena at speeds greater than light doesn’t seem to introduce any causal paradoxes. In other words, how messy does spacetime get if we take our shuttle up to warp speed? Is everything suddenly in multiple places at once?ĭragan’s new work indicates that it’s at least a possibility. The research team-led by theoretical physicist Andrzej Dragan of the University of Warsaw and the National University of Singapore-has theorized that many parts of quantum physics, like indeterminism and superposition, can be explained if you take general relativity and apply its principles to the superluminal observer. Play icon The triangle icon that indicates to play It’s you in your Star Trek warp-speed shuttle. The superluminal observer is a hypothetical thing that is looking at the universe while traveling faster than light. The key idea at play here is that of a “superluminal observer.” “Superluminal” means faster than light, from super- meaning “more” or “most,” and - luminal like, well, Lumière from Beauty and the Beast, and the lumens that power your home movie projector. And there’s one math trick at superspeeds that may just “flip” your lid. The math is deep and complicated, but the ideas may be within our grasp after all. Specifically, the solution may lie in three dimensions of time, with just one representing space. The secret to faster-than-light physics could be to double down on the number of dimensions, according to new research published last month in the journal Classical and Quantum Gravity. Symmetry is a physics concept that goes all the way back to Galileo’s time.In new research, the lead scientist explains why just one space and one time aren’t enough for this scenario.A faster-than-light “observer” would take general relativity to new quantum places. For example, the first Stories episode launched on iOS and Android as a standalone product that doesn't require the base game. You also want to hit each platform's specified customers habits. For Nintendo Switch, This War of Mine was released as a Complete Edition, containing the game, DLC, and a Season Pass with Stories episodes. Mobiles were all about touch controls, consoles got the 'The Little Ones' expansion, which later came out on PC. This War of Mine was expanded with every edition. Such migration is normal, but in our case those were not mere ports. We launched the game on five new systems: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. "We managed to do what was believed not possible for indies keeping the sales steady despite being on the market for a long time"ĭuring that time we have sought new audiences constantly. The biggest part of that came from This War of Mine. In the years 2014 to 2018, between the launches of This War of Mine and Frostpunk, 11 bit Studios earned more than €6 million. From that point it grew every year, which helped to keep sales at a steady rate. This War of Mine's first year on Steam brought in 24% of its user base. On the other hand, we managed to do what was believed not possible for indies keeping the sales steady despite being on the market for a long time. During those 12 months, we sold about 700,000 copies of the game - to date, the biggest annual number. Of course, the first year after the launch is always crucial. Despite that, This War of Mine generated more revenue in Q1 2019 than in Q1 2018. This War of Mine was released for Windows, OSX in November 2014, so this November will mark the end of its fifth year on the market.
My earliest designs allowed any image file at all to be added to a tile, but we found that even with well-chosen images, the interface quickly got cluttered and hard to read.Įventually, I came to another idea: emoji! Apple’s emoji are very well drawn, and even better, there’s a uniformity that makes all the emoji work well with each other. However, we weren’t sure how best to accomplish this. As a general rule of thumb, a combination of text and visual icon is easier for a user to identify quickly than just text or an icon alone. The most obvious difference, however, is the new presence of emoji on the tile face.įrom early on, we planned to include some sort of images on tiles. The update brings much better resizing to allow larger tiles when needed, as well as crisper colours and some small layout tweaks. The functionality of tiles is largely unchanged in version 2, but visually, they’re greatly improved. They’re the foundational element of the app, with each tile representing one sound that’s available for playback. Let’s start with the most fundamental interface element Farrago has: sound tiles. The app remains extremely recognizable when compared with the first version, but from looks to features to ease of use, it’s better in every way.Īs we have often done for major upgrades, I’d like go over many parts of our process, and discuss how we went about making all of these improvements and refinements. For this update, we really worked to improve every single facet of the product. Posted By Neale Van Fleet on June 13th, 2023Įarlier this spring, we shipped the second major version of Farrago. It is our fervent hope that Apple simply drops this alert entirely before Sonoma officially ships in the fall. Then, some time later, they remove the APIs. First, they announce the pending removal of the API to developers. The last thing users should ever have to worry about is “deprecated APIs”.Īpple already has a powerful method for dealing with deprecated APIs. This poorly-written alert, instructing users to contact developers for new software, is an unacceptable disturbing of that balance. When managed well, it keeps both parties in check. This tension is the normal state of affairs. Platform owners, on the other hand, wish to cut out cruft and move forward rapidly. It’s understood that it must evolve, but it should do so slowly and predictably. As developers, we wish for a stable platform. Since the very first computer platform was created, there has been a power struggle between platform owners and developers. There is no improving this, short of its complete removal. He follows up with a list of suggestions for improving the dialog, to make it at least minimally tolerable. Please contact the developer for an updated version.”Ĭraig’s post includes many notes detailing how terrible this dialog is. The dialog states “ is using a deprecated API that will be removed in the future. We urge you to stick with MacOS 13 or lower for now, rather than catching yourself on the extremely rough edges of a beta operating system.Ī recent post from Craig Hockenberry brought attention to one such rough edge, in the form of a new warning dialog which may pop up in the Sonoma betas. We’re hard at work on updates, but it will be some time before they’re available. That makes this a useful time to remind you that the betas are not yet supported by our products. Posted By Quentin Carnicelli on July 12th, 2023Īpple has just unveiled the first public betas for the next version of the Mac’s operating system, MacOS 14 (Sonoma). |
